A Thai man faces up to ten years in jail after being arrested for selling coral online via Facebook. Police seized more than 300 types of corals from the man’s residence. The 31 year old man, Thitipong, was arrested today at his home in Soi Suwinthawong 13, Saen Saeb sub-district, Min Buri district, Bangkok. Dunno if it is profitable. A lot of marine aquarium enthousiast in Europe multiply, grow, and trade corals (soft and hard), anemones and other sea creatures. Not fish though. Usually there is no money involved. Zoos do the same thing, often working together with the enthousiasts . 

Itis actually quite easy to multiply corals. Cut em in pieces, tie em to a piece of rock and place em in an aquarium with plenty of light and a big pump to keep the water flowing.

If this guy used this method, it's no big deal I guess. But if he collected his stock from the wild then he clearly violated a law.

Authorities would want a piece of profit even if the source is legit.
