Difficult times pushes people to the end of their lives. All they need is to restructure their lives and live accordingly. The problem is many could not accept in Thai community as for them the stupid "face value" which they wanted to show to others how they live is the most valuable in life.....what a pity

Teachers are on of the biggest in debt. Once upon a time the doors for easy loans to them were everywhere and they took them. Automobiles and homes the biggest ones. Sad and her family are the ones who will hurt from this the hardest. On the news yesterday the son was at the bridge balling his heart out.

Seemingly simple solutions like "All they need is to restructure their lives and live accordingly" or (paraphrasing the next bit) "It's mostly about face value & perception, so just give those factors less weight in decisions" aren't solutions but abstractions of solutions. If you didn't intend your statements to be taken as solutions but rather as a high-level analysis without any immediate practical value, just consider what I said as no more than a clarification.

On a side note: time all by itself pushes people to the end of their lives (but difficult times can indeed expedite that process).

You left out the Police. They were reported on this forum also to be one of the biggest borrowers in Thai society.  They also marry many teachers. Some survive some don't.
