The beach closures are an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 after the province reported an uptick in infections. Rayong governor Charnna Iamsaeng signed an order earlier this week to close the beaches from 8pm to 5am every day. The order goes into effect today. Another scenario from the Monty Python handbook. You really couldn't make some of this up.

Well, I'll give it a go:

Albatross, Albatross, Stormy Covid on a stick.
D'you get wafers with it?
What flavour is it?
Delta flavour, it's bleedin' South African flavour innit?

This is another example of being seen to be doing something. Remember, most Thais don’t ask any follow up question or analyse what is happening. It’s enough just to do anything in order to be seen as a busy and productive politician. Most people here will see this for what it is. A totally pointless waste of time.

I agree , closing at night coz a few people might enjoy themselves is a joke  itself ,surely  its crowds of  people who are more likely to spread infections , so they think crowds on the beach daytime is safer - it just gets  worse every week .

But it is OK during the day??  This just keeps on keeping on.  Thailand politicians are the joke that just keeps giving.

Alcohol and darkness are 2 evils of Thailand, you should know that already
