It's not the general Thai nature to consumed cow's milk and byproducts, lest the less than healthy Western processed and engineered type.

Which is why I make my own icecream. Without milk or cream.

It was the commercial aspect that made tracing possible, and allow the government to certify that imports here were not affected. Had this happened in some small mom & pop home-based shop, nobody would have know its source and slow poisonings would likely have gone on for years.

Almost every Thai person I know loves both cheese and ice cream.  You know that Swensen's is a popular ice cream chain here, right?  McD's has it on soft-serve, pizza company offers it on their dessert menu. And then there are those ice cream ladies who ride around on bicycles.

And ice cream isn't "engineered", so I'm not sure what you were thinking when you wrote that.
