May one enquire from where were these buses are being sourced and what credentials the manufacturer has. There is a history of acquiring things through dubious specially created companies from cheap and unproven Chinese sources. Will this be the case this time?

Buses should be on the road just in time for minor flooding* in Bangkok.  I hope the battery packs are well protected.

*24hr rain across central provinces and the north takes approx a week to reach Bangkok.

Thai firm to build electric buses for Bangkok and other key cities News (12go.asia)

Not sure but think it is a Chinese /Thai company. Boasting they can produce thousands per annum and export to ASEAN countries as well.

Hope it works out for them. Anything to help with the pollution in Bangkok.

If no one told them to do it it ain't done, even if they did, it may have been a short cut to save baht.

Think Bangkok wiil be flooded for a week even  if no more rain. Locally small flood areas that usually disappear quickly (hours) are taking up to a day to recede, even then any small shower brings them back quickly so the ground is at max absorption.

Thank God for that, because electricity is "clean" energy.  Well, that is true for the colossally ignorant.  Where does electricity come from?  It comes from turning things in magnetic fields, and how do we turn things?  We turn things from heat, we make steam.  How do we make steam?  We burn things.  Like coal.  It's true we can also turn things from kinetic energy like tides or from wind energy from windmills.  But the most efficient way to turn things is from nuclear energy (make a small bomb = heat) and from coal.

Hope they have more luck than TFL in London who in may took their new electric buses off the road after 6 of them went up in flames for no apparent reason.

Akin to one step forward and two steps back.

Using much more toxic production in the making of the fashionable electric vehicles than it's environmental saving worth.

I hope they've cleared customs already?

Years ago there were a large number of buses imported from abroad which ended up rotting in a customs shed, due to a dispute over the amount of import tax owing.

Actually, it is true.

Care to explain how? I already have the evidence from the EPA themselves that the entire life cycle of EVs pollute less than gasoline cars. Check out that link.
