Transferring officers to an inactive post is often a form of punishment in Thailand when preventable tragedies like this take place under a police station’s jurisdiction. The district chief of Sattahip was already transferred in the immediate aftermath of the fire.
 

A bit late for the kids. I hope that there’s no cover up as most people will be surmising the reason the club was left to operate. Pending the investigation these officer should be sacked and  be up on serious charges.

I find it curious cover story photo contains Air Force Officers…?!!

But perhaps another agency other than RTP investigating the RTP (and simply relocating potential offenders, instead of suspension) can result in something positive, especially for loved one’s…

It might be a lot of clubs and then bars were able to operate during later Covid times under a restaurant license and no one followed up on it after that. This is tragic at its highest. Raining like spraying melting fire balls from the ceiling. Video is heart dropping.

As with everything, it's always reactive, wait until something happens then we'll do something to fix it.

By the sounds of things there must have been plenty of envelopes passed to relevant RTP for this place to even be open as any type of venue.

Sad for those who died and those who are alive but injured, I suspect there will not be much in the way of compensation coming their way.

I have read about this for years yet do not understand.  RTP are not in charge of liquor licenses or food permits are they?  How can "they" shut you down if you do not pay?  Police duties include enforcement of the law.  So if your establishment has all the legal permits to operate, police have no say in the matter AFAIK   

Firefighters and Fire station employees should be checking on fire safety in bars and restaurants, not the RTP
