News Forum - Thai police admit extorting money from Taiwanese actress
The US political system is notoriously corrupt - any system that allows (and effectively requires) insane amounts of money to be spent on electioneering and has a judiciary elected on political affiliations is inherently corrupt. However, while it may not be ethical, but is (rightly or wrongly) legal, unlike Thailand where much of what happens is both unethical and illegal. -

News Forum - Is kaeng som the worst dish in Thailand?
Sounds tasty - I am going to have to have a go at cooking that. These best of\worst of list are generally complete garbage, I suspect often compiled by the same idiots that think that the count of mentions in social media relates to how good something or someplace is. -

Not true, You have a myriad of politicians who have accumulated enormous wealth serving in governement and not in jail. Nancy Pelosi $114 million Diane Feinstein $87 million Mitch McConnel $35 million Liz Cheney $15 million Now how do people who work only for a government salary suddenly accumulate millions? Former Vice President Al Gore has a net worth of over $300 million. I guess he invested his VP Salary well. Now the biggest scams are the foundations most of them presidential foundations that allow for those who wish to buy influence to make a "donation" to a charitiable organization but they are really buying influence. The owner of the Canadian uranium firm that Clinton approved for its sale to the Russians donated personally $31.3 million and pledged another $100 million. Russians connected to the sale are reported to have donated upwards of $145 million to the foundation. Now where does that money go. Overhead of course, jetting around the world "securing" more donations for the foundation. Guess who gave up her $600,00 job to focus on her work at the "foundation" Another legal ploy is to pay the children of those you are wishing to buy influence with. The only difference between Thailand and the USA is that in the USA they use legal but equally effective ways of peddling influence and make themselves multi millionaires. A few do stupid things like Blogojevich and use direct extortion and get caught. News Forum - Concern over rapid passage of media control bill
Well, there IS a free and honest election approaching rapidly... we can't possibly let anything detrimental to our caring and honest military junta be printed that would sway the vote away from them, could we?
