Pattaya is expected to be bustling with tourists from today until Sunday, in celebration of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun’s 70th birthday today. Mayor of Pattaya Poramet Ngampichet estimates that a whopping 80,000 tourists will travel to Koh Larn island off the coast of Pattaya in the eastern province of Chon Buri during the four-day royal birthday weekend from July 28 – 31. So you leave Bangkok with a population density of 5,600 per square kilometer and go to Koh Lan, an island that is only  5.5 square kilometers in size.  80,000 people would be 15,000 people per square kilometer! 3 times that of Bangkok. 

Wow what fun, 3 times more people waiting for a coffee or a beer at the beach, now that is a holiday  5555
