A 77 year old woman in Amnat Charoen died this morning after being hit by a car carrying the Pheu Thai party leader Khathathep Tejadejruangkul. Khathathep was on his way to Ubon Ratchathani Airport to catch a flight to Bangkok where he was scheduled to attend a House meeting. But his driver, 32 year old Sergeant Wirayut Phariwong, hit Pua Pholthanee with his black Mercedes-Benz sedan, while she was crossing a road in Moo 3, Na Mo Ma Subdistrict, Mueang Amnat Charoen District. “the accident took place because the road had a sharp turn and the driver was unable to brake in time as the woman suddenly decided to cross.”

Of course there was no other explanation like driving too fast or on yabaa or who knows what else. Those nasty sharp turns are responsible for a lot of accidents

Road looks very straight to me going by power lines, and car behind him looks like an official car.

Well since the car killed the poor old woman it should go to jail. The people are not to blame, also the road  had a curve and since we were still at speed it can not be our fault.  A Thai that takes real accountability ( no that is not shave your head and do a couple of months worth of Wai-ing as monk) is like a Dutchman that gives a compliment not followed by a negative ( I am Dutch), an American that is genuine modest, a German with humor. There is just some things that will never happen...

And yet not one comment on the stupidity of the woman... she needs help to cross most times yet no one was there to help her.
