Yesterday, French Muay Thai boxer Anthony Durand announced his resignation from the sport following the death of his opponent Phanphet Phadungchai. Phanphet suffered a brain haemorrhage after being knocked out by a Anthony during a fight on July 15. The 25 year old boxer entered a state of brain death following the injury and received life support for 9 days before sadly passing away on Saturday night. Could I respectfully suggest that regarding this tragic outcome at this match, that to the uninformed and respect to the family of the deceased that in your reporting and photograph of the 2 boxers, that you at least indicate in the picture which man this report refers to?
