Thailand has recorded its first case of monkeypox, the 71st country in the world during this recent outbreak, only the fourth since the start of the 21st century. The virus has only been endemic in a few Central African countries up to this stage. The 27 year old man, who had been travelling from Nigeria, was confirmed with monkeypox after admitting with symptoms to a hospital in Phuket. Monkeypox is spread through direct contact or via bodily fluids and, in this current outbreak, has spread primarily amongst men who have sex with men.

So he had 1 week already symptoms before he went to a hospital?

And did they ask him about his sexual contacts on Phuket, perhaps?

Hat's off to the Thai authorities for identifying this unfortunate individuals nationality and recent travel patterns to the general public. 

Unlike in Western Countries where due to political correctness they are unwilling to which in turn panics the general population into thinking Monkeypox at large in the population.

Geez, they make it sound like he’s an escaped convict. He’s probably scared what restrictions and costs will be applied to him.
