Less than a day after police denied using the Israeli-made Pegasus spyware to track Thai democracy activists a government minister admitted Thailand does use surveillance to monitor individuals. Successive Thai governments have been accused by Human rights groups of using broad definitions of national security as a pretext to prosecute or suppress the activities of their main rivals. By national security he must mean protesting people. They are on same level with drug criminals?

So as I take it some transfers of some public servants and officials will be taking place soon. But ofcourse with full pay and only the scapegoats who will probably be secretely highly compensated for getting thrown under the bus.

So the Thai government says it only does lawful things while at the same time admitting using the spyware which it says is unlawful.

Human rights violation on political opponents without a doubt
