Faraday Posted July 19, 2022 #232153 Share Posted July 19, 2022 THE sun set on a 38C sizzler last night as Brits prepare for another scorcher today. Temperatures remained up to 30C in the late evening and are expected to stay in the 20s throughout the night for much of the country. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/19240877/uk-weather-luton-airport-melt/ My sister who lives in the SW of England sent me this picture of her weather station. palooka Posted July 24, 2022 #233841 Share Posted July 24, 2022 I'd assume the heat is with high humidity therefore harder to handle. (hard to read the weather station humidity factor in the picture) Have experienced 48-50 C in Australia but a dry heat and it burns if you pick up metal that has been laying in direct sunlight for a few minutes, but liveable. 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/15977-more-hot-weather-in-the-uk/#findComment-233841 Share on other sites
brian60221 Posted July 24, 2022 #233848 Share Posted July 24, 2022 Intriguing, isn't it. The earth is approximately a ball, and it spins on a slightly inclined axis. Sometimes one hemisphere is closer to the sun, so it feels warmer. We call this summer. 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/15977-more-hot-weather-in-the-uk/#findComment-233848 Share on other sites

DesperateOldHand Posted August 6, 2022 #238461 Share Posted August 6, 2022 Considered dreary not because of the traditional weather, but instead the disposition and character make up of the culture? Do you ever say anything nice about anyone, you come across as a depressive bore. Lighten up for Christs sake.
