Recommended Posts

Thailand’s public health authorities are pushing people to follow the 10 day quarantine period if they test positive for Covid-19. A spokesman for the Public Health Ministry, Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, said that if people have to leave their homes, such as for hospital trips, they must wear masks. Rungrueng added that outpatients should also stay in well ventilated rooms, away from others, during their self-quarantine. He recommended they use separate bathrooms as well. If this is not possible, he said that all surfaces must be disinfected after Covid-19 patients use a bathroom. Rungrueng said… “We found that a number of […]

There is absolutely no basis for this recommendation.  Weren’t the medicrats just a few weeks ago announcing a new shorter “quarantine” period?

If you test positive at home you should isolate until you have a negative antigen test.

This will likely be much less than 10 days. That’s the rule in singapore—one of the few countries that actually takes a reasoned, a scientific basis for its rules.

Can foresee a big dispute coming between Thai health and the Govt.

Pnut and Anut want endemic (desperately), reality is a bit different.

Many farlungs are in the boat with them, no patience to really beat this virus, "oh it's inconvenient to my plans".

Usually it's the young ones who count their remaing days in years and don't give a stuff about those that count their remaining years in days.

People may come on here and grizzle about Covid, but you are a bit naive if you think this is over and not going to affect your lives for the next few years.

10 days is a perfectly sensible and reasonable period for isolation if you test positive for covid sure it's not the 14 days that the medical people would prefer but it still covers the infectious period for most people who become infected. It also is not a backing down to the financial sectors pressure that has created the totally inadequate periods of 5 or 7 days we are seeing in most Western countries that are contributing to the surge of infections we are currently seeing globally.

Mandatory isolation? Given the fact everyone has different symptoms and some do not get sick at all, mandating a quarantine for everyone is not going to work. I have friends now that have COVID, the father is sick quarantined in his room. His youngest son quarantined in his room with no symptoms. The oldest son now lives in the living room with his mother whom neither one of them are sick and tested negative. Been this way for almost a 4 days. They will all test again on Sunday and if the 2 that are sick test negative ….life goes on!! The mother is still working and the oldest son watches over his father and brother 😎.

Thank You

Medicrats is a pretty good description since there is no scientific basis for these recommendations.

It would be nice if the Government released REAL numbers of infections. Then the "Selfish" people that laugh off Covid just might start thinking about the hundreds of thousands of Thai and foreign people that could die if they get infected.

It is NOT just about the healthy people!!!
