Singapore has executed two convicted drug traffickers, in what anti-capital punishment and human rights campaigners fear could be a “new wave” of hangings in the city state. 48 year old Singaporean Norasharee bin Gous and 31 year old Malaysian national Kalwant Singh had their capital sentences carried out yesterday at the Changi Prison Complex. Their executions follow another execution in April this year when Singapore controversially hanged a man with intellectual disabilities. The fact that it hasn’t been a deterrent simply speaks to the stupidity of drug traffickers who know the price if they get caught. But it’s certainly punishment. These two will never be able to poison young addicts they created again! The rest of the world should butt out. They have no moral high ground about anything to speak from.
