The current price is 1,000 baht for people applying for a visa prior to arrival and 2,000 baht for those countries, that are required to pay a vis fee, applying for a visa on arrival. Shade_Wilder Posted July 7, 2022 #228277 Share Posted July 7, 2022 "Tour companies suggested that the government increase the duration applying to both the visa-on-arrival, and for those who apply for a tourism visa ahead of time, from 15 to 45 days and 30 to 45 days. The tour companies feel that suspending the visa fees and extending their possible length of stay would attract more international travellers to the Land of Smiles." If ever there was a country that would benefit from a 'Laissez Faire' entrance policy, it is Thailand. Instead, the people making decisions pile on more and more idiotic bureaucratic nonsense to assuage their paranoid fears that someone is out to get them. The easier that it is to enter and stay in Thailand, the more people will come. The more people that come, the more money you will make. Doh!

People who enter on a 30 day exemption don’t have to pay for a visa anyway
Cabra Posted July 7, 2022 #228347 Share Posted July 7, 2022 Yep. The fewer/lower the barriers, the easier the flow. Truth is Thailand has always been relatively easy when it comes to getting tourist visas. Making it easier won't hurt.
Bangkok_Gary Posted July 7, 2022 #228439 Share Posted July 7, 2022 (edited) Europe and Latin American countries issue a 90 day visa on arrival. Why is it only 30 days in Thailand ? Makes no sense. Try entering Europe as a Thai for 30 days, let alone 90 day.
