Kanokwan “Jubjang” Chusuk has had to abandon her dream of becoming a beauty queen after discovering female teachers are banned from taking part in beauty contests in Thailand. According to Thai Education Ministry rules, female teachers are not allowed to join beauty pageants, performance contests, or any other kinds of competitions.

 

That is about as generalized as you can get!!! The proverbial roofers union card that covers everything.

Of course the same applies to male teachers?

Yeah but moonlighting as a Go Go dancers is perfectly acceptable. Well if teachers can't be Beauty Queens then uneducated Generals should not be able to be a PM.

Seems silly. Thailand and it's archaic rules and duplicitous positions ceases to amaze. They hold teachers and beauty in high regard but don't try to be both 🤷

I like long hair on a woman and I like butter, but don't serve me a long hair in my butter.  I like roller coasters and I like popcorn but don't...you get the idea.
