Sad but it’s common. In my village the roads are appalling with heavy trucks breaking up the concrete and exposing the reinforcing. The strip between the village and highway no one wants to pay to concrete it resulting in a potholed mud strip that floods every time it rains. In the meantime the headman has in 1 term, acquired a new Ute, new car, trucks, rice harvesters and that’s just what I know of. He also in 1 moo paid each household 1000 baht to vote for him in his next term.
