Thaiger Posted June 22, 2022 #223411 Share Posted June 22, 2022 The Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency has a solution to solve the recent gas hike: use a charcoal stove if cooking gas is too expensive. The department’s official Facebook page yesterday uploaded a picture of a stove, with a caption saying ‘a charcoal stove is durable, helps save money, uses less charcoal, and offers a lot of heat.” The stove in the picture is a Tao Mana Satethi, which translates as a millionaire’s stove. It was developed by the Ministry of Energy and is different from a stove sold a consumer would find in a marketplace. Loong Posted June 22, 2022 #223425 Share Posted June 22, 2022 It is not obvious to me what the difference between this "stove" and the normal one is. Even if it is more efficient there is no way that it could be cheaper than gas, even if gas gets more expensive. The other thing that he has failed to mention is that a gas stove can be turned off when not required. That's a bit difficult with charcoal. Also, imagine that you could save money by using charcoal, guess what would happen to the price of charcoal if there was a significant increase in demand.

Rebel Posted June 22, 2022 #223530 Share Posted June 22, 2022 Yes sounds so Thai. First you have pollution when you make the charcoal and then one more time when you use them in your grill. Way to do it Einstein

HiuMak Posted June 22, 2022 #223644 Share Posted June 22, 2022 Must have gotten the idea from Germany since they are turning on their coal powered plants as Russia cuts its gas supply to Europe.
