Thailand’s private bus companies have threatened to axe services by up to 80% if the government does not allow them to raise fare prices in line with rising fuel costs. Twenty-seven of the nation’s private coach enterprises promised they will run a skeleton service of only 20% from July 1 unless the government allowed them to raise fares by 0.59 baht per kilometre. I already made this point a while ago, the three constants in thailand are cheap rent, cheap travel and cheap bills. If you mess with these constants which you are currently doing blaming the ukraine war of all things. You will seriously destabilise the thai way of life. Its really not rocket science.

80% is about the quote of old and unsafe Busses, methinks. Would  kt be a loss. But rising the bus trip Bangkok to Phuket bei 400+ Baht? That would be a number.  My guess, that would let even more fly to Phuket/Bangkok.

Anyway, not many Thais are traveling between provinces these days. I noticed it when riding in Thailand for the past 18 days from South to North. Hence it is not going to affect much for the commuters. Further more, there are alternative choices for mode of transport available.
