Any news on 45 day visa exemption?

Howdy all!

I seem to remember that this was a topic under discussion at the CCSA meeting last week, as a way to increase tourism. Way anything decided or has it been tabled for later?  I could get a tourist visa, but the application process is insane- 10 documents required, including a bank statement, a guarantor letter, an official employment statement, etc.   Just want to take a nice 5-6 week trip without the hassle of a border run or throwaway flight ticket.

Nope - the period of stay was previously temporarily increased from 30 to 45 days for visits between 22 December 2020 - 30 September 2021. Not heard of any proposal to reintroduce that scheme again.

Bite the bullet, send the required documents, or enter VE.
