A man from Krabi, southern Thailand, was left terrified and thankfully unharmed after tens of thousands of giant honey bees – or Apis dorsata – swarmed his home on Sunday. What nonsense! 

Any type of sting is dangerous if you are allergic, more so if you are subject to multiple stings. Any bee keeper can tell you this.

And presumably the author of this article is not aware of the Asian hornet which can do a real number on you.

Highly possible. One large nest can have 40kg of honey. I wouldn’t fancy trying to harvest it though.
