News Forum - Fire destroys Ayutthaya home, damages over 5 million baht
As investigations proceed, the focus will remain on uncovering the specific cause of the fire and ensuring that steps are taken to mitigate such risks in the future. This incident, while devastating, serves as a critical reminder for homeowners to review and update their fire safety precautions regularly. Every time I read such BS here, I laugh out loud. They dont give a rat's rear here about 'electrical safety' or 'safety precautions'. One of the more serious downsides to the Mai Pen Rai attitude of Thais. Electrical fires are always a worry here, and one of the main reasons why we never stay in cheap hotels (anymore). -

News Forum - British expats uncovered in Thailand as UK probes pension fraud

Although I know a bloke dealing with Will issues in Germany and Denmark and has all sorts of cross-border and banking problems - as well as getting all the official paperwork completed to finalise the Estate. I cannot believe some of the stories he tells me - they are so incompetent and disorganised - they make Thailand look efficient. I had no idea how well organised they are in Australia until I saw things here and learned about how other countries operate their public service. Always pays to not let people know too much about you - there is always some ars***le who dobs people in. -

News Forum - 10 year old homeless boy steals 3.5 million baht from Aussien woman in Pattaya
Something very suspicious about this - WTF is a 'businesswoman' visiting Thailand doing with all that jewellery - and WTF would she leave it lying around in a rented house. Something does not add up here - no way any woman I know would leave that sort of stuff lying around in a rented house (the boy did not open a safe?) and go away for a day.
