Thailand’s Digital Economy and Society Minister, Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, is warning crime witnesses that spreading pictures or videos of the incidents via online channels ‘could’ violate the new Personal Data Protection Act or PDPA. It is disgraceful that once again perpetrators are able to threaten and hide behind badly designed laws. Everyone knows that going to the police is an exercise in futility as it is not unknown for perps to be able to "influence" members of the RTP. Thailand is already known for its lack of rigorous investigation of crime and this new minefield will only add to frequent injustice.

Totally agree. This new law is just another tool to allow the wealthy to avoid prosecution. They will use it to further threaten those who would otherwise provide evidence against them. Thailand is simply not capable of using the spirit of this law properly. It’s simply not mature enough as a democratic society and hence it will be abused.
