A police investigation discovered that a 30 million baht donation to the temple fund in 2014, to support the education of monks and novices, had not been used by the NOB.

Phra Udomsittinayok had withdrawn 23.5 million baht and returned the money to Boonlert Sopha, a former NOB director, who was sentenced to jail in 2020 for his involvement as broker in the deal.

So where is the money today and what was it spent on? I await the answers. This and other embezzlement of temple funds is giving Buddhist monks a bad name

Honest mistake .. the senior monks thought the 30 million baht earmarked for education of novice monks meant an education on how to be criminals. How better to educate than to show them how it's done 😂
