How enormously generous it is of the Thai authorities. This will make it easier for the Saudis to go to Thailand and spend money in the country and help the Thai economy. A totally altruistic move if ever there was one. 🤔

Question is where will all the future visa overstays be concentrated. Usual suspects... Pattaya and Bangkok. Don't imagine a lot of Saudis laying low up country.

Phuket is the most popular place for Saudis to go on holiday. Bangkok for medical treatment maybe.

There are direct flights from Doha and Abu Dhabi as well, or at least there used to be anyway before C19. If there aren't I'd expect them to start up again soon.

Agreed. I just wish the tone of the reporting wasn’t one that made it look like a one sided act of benevolence.

Very true. Bottom line is they want people to splash some cash. I know many Saudis who are thinking of visiting. Word spreads quick though these days via SM and right now it's all positive, whether it stays that way though remains to be seen.

The direct flights from KSA to Bangkok are a bonus too.
