35 students from Nepal secured internship positions in 4 resorts in Thailand. As per protocol, all relevant documents were electronically sent to the consulate/embassy to get an appointment date to lodge visa. However, it's been 6 weeks now. When probed, embassy states that the documents had been sent to the consular head office in Bangkok and they are verifying. 1 MONTH to verify that the resorts are actually hiring these interns? Furthermore, these resorts all have at-least once had Nepalese students intern with them. The main problem is that all visa applicants are required to submit CONFIRMED/PAID insurance and flight tickets (which have been rescheduled 2 times already, costing as much as the original tickets).

Can anybody suggest what we can do to help these students?

Did they all supply a letter of acceptance from the concerned schools/universities or institutes in Thailand indicating length of stay and the applicant’s field of study or visiting program.

It will take time to verify those letters - if they even reply.
