Do they still make people to wear face masks outside? When walking along a beach for example?

If yes, does it seem reasonable for them that people are not eager to spend their money in the country with such absurd treatment of visitors?

I wonder if they even bothered to do a survey of what are the top issues deterring people from travel? I’m sure they didn’t as they’ve already decided it’s the war in Ukraine and the high fuel prices/inflation. Both of which are factors among others such as Thailand Pass, mask wearing, Covid Insurance and diminished night life. However, it’s easier to blame it on the things they have no control over, that way it’s not their fault.

Get rid of the Thailand Pass and then try to promote tourism with incentives not giving instructions to airlines to enforce ridiculous entry restrictions

Promotional vids will not show a masks wearing tourist on the beach.

So many things need addressing before many tourists will flock back to the LoS again..

Since the start of Covid when all international travel was put on hold & folk were advised to 'stay at home'..The use of social media as a (for many) true picture of what's going on in a country, and it's pro's/cons are now right there at your fingertips...Asian forums being just one example.

So..When potential tourists read for nearly 6 months now the constant barrage of complaints about the Thailand Pass, & it being the No1 hurdle for them not booking,..then the Thais react...By dropping it for their own citizens, NOT foreign tourists! ..To me that say's it all.

Every week now we are hearing of muggings, scams & attacks, followed by the same lame reactions from the RTP..(which has never changed in years)..

Horror stories of families being locked up and skyhigh fees demanded from them..all because 1 member of the family tested positive for Covid..!!

THIS is what this team from the TaT is up against, and will try whitewash all these facts... Good luck to these folk and their almost convincing 'roadshow', cos you're gonna need it...The facts about Thai tourism are out there for all to see (& judge).

The world has changed in many ways since the start of Covid, & now with a global rise in the cost of living, fuel prices causing flight-fares to soar, and folk generally thinking hard before booking a long-haul flights/holidays Thailand needs to be squeaky clean, safe & inviting.........
