Now, with the situation beginning to ease nationally and globally, officials are working towards downgrading the illness. However, according to a Bangkok Post report, health minister Anutin Charnvirakul says it will still take a number of weeks before any decision is taken. Once the virus has been downgraded, it will mean the government is no […]

As he admittes with the emergency decree they can still control the masses and force people into prison hospitals. This government does not want to loose that total power

I would like to compliment the Thai government on its cautious approach.
obviously there is an enormous amount of information it needs to assess. Perhaps send fact finding teams around the world. On their return write detailed summaries which would need to be assessed and reviewed.
individual countries situations to be included in risk matrix , with another round of  country visits to confirm analysis.
Obviously then a decision can be reached or not reached and perhaps more information gathered.

Here in Australia everyone had moved on and now the flu pandemic has peoples attention.

Stop using common sense and sounding reasonable, don't you know that cov2 will kill you? Sad it has taken this long for so many countries to finally say, "enough is enough" Live with it.

Dave, this is something the Thai authorities never do. They never look for best practice in anything. All they ever do is consult inexperienced “experts” from within Thailand and mix it with uneducated and poorly informed utterances from government officials and Ministers.

What we are seeing here isn’t caution, it’s procrastination. They simply haven’t a clue, and just like someone in the dark, they are moving slowly in case they bang the heads of fall over something. Each of them literally s*@t scarred in case they are the single one to blame for a misstep.

Just thought

perhaps have family members or extended family members included in world fact finding tour. The government would get alternate views which could be included in reports. Obviously they would have opportunities to appreciate 5 star accommodation, pool side bars and so . But their feedback ( if you could get them out of the shops ) might be valuable

Thai authorities do not have a clear roadmap for this. Many countries have moved on.

Thailand should self evaluate.
