Thailand’s Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration is promoting the tourist hotspot as a film production centre under the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. With the roads in such rotten condition, crews could never get their equipment staged in anything resembling a timely fashion. Dream on, fools.

Not sure where you are in LOS, but the roads around me are excellent, far,  far better than in the UK and they are building more, bigger, lit roads each year. Even what we would call B roads are tarmacked and lit, excellent.

Hollywood productions would be amazed at how hard the Thai crews work compared to the fat, lazy, overpaid union workers that are the norm in H'Wood now....I hope it happens, would be a nice shot in the arm for the local economy!!!

This article is about roads in Pattaya which are in atrocious condition.

In the City maybe in some parts, just outside they are excellent.  Even the ones in Pattaya are being improved.  People seem to complain about anything.  Frankly, the roads in Patts  are not that bad, its the volume of traffic and the continuing road improvement schemes that are the issue , compounded when the coaches appear.  Good Traffic management would solve a lot of the perceived irritations, such as pedestrianization of some areas close to the beach and of beach road itself , park and ride with the 10 Baht busses involved, good extensive out of Centre parking areas, more one way road systems.  A lot can and should be done.

Pattaya may be the hub for Thai based films, but the Covid pandemic shut down international film production for the past 2 years. The countries who dominate are South Korea and Philippines. South Korea is the regional leader in quality pre & post  production facilities. It's personnel are educated and trained and offers a top level of health and safety for all crews.
