Another day, another idea, as Thailand desperately tries to revive its decimated tourism sector and by extension, the economy. While things are looking up since entry restrictions were eased, suggestions for further improvement continue to circulate. The Islands do not need such suggestions which are nonsense. The beaches and tropical climate with good quality hotels are sufficient to attract tourism but everyone must realise the pandemic and war in Ukraine has diminished the number of tourists able, willing and wealthy enough to travel. The other serious obstical is the continuation of the Thailand Pass and State of Emergency.

You think ok for 100.- to 150.- bath for one beer in bar ? You think ok to pay 50 US for a room not in front of the beach ? You think normal to pay 15 US for a pizza (may alloy) ? You think normal a taxi ask you 20 US for 10 min. roadtrip ? You think normal the expensive price from BKK to Samui by air ? Come on... If you will target the millionaires then ok but please do not speak that farangs not ok. The reason: Samui and others islands are not Ibiza or Miami and you need to change it for reasonable price.

More places to strike from my list of "need to see" if Thai tourism is involved with these stupid ideas.
