If the assailant is Thai then I would imagine a charge of Recklessness as a result of dangling the victim over an 8th floor balcony is most likely.

Or be allowed to say how sorry he is and sign up as a Buddhist monk

Any video footage on her floor, plus video of the front entrance to the condo?

Any neighbors hear anything?

Forward these questions to the police.

A waste of time mate. I know of a guy who “fell” from a sixth floor apartment in Bangkok some years back. His girlfriend had often argued and told people she would kill him. On the afternoon it happened they argued and he went back to his condo. A friend found him on the road an hour later looking as though he had been placed there. The Emergency response guys turned up and took the body away. No police photographs were taken and the police only turned up to gain access to the apartment to look for his passport. No interviews were done with the condo staff. No CCTV was collected and the girlfriend was never interviewed. After his U.K. family were informed and they agreed to his body being cremated and remains left in Thailand he was cremated. Job done and no further questions asked.

The problem with murder for the RTP is that there is simply no money in it unless someone is prepared to pay. It’s just hard police type work and no reward other than a pittance of a salary. Increase the salary and raise morale and things may improve. Unlikely, but at least it removes that excuse of low pay.

If there were many arguments (presumably not just of the grumpy kind whose turn it is to do the dishes, but more towards the kind of "look at this nice broken beer bottle I have in my hand") and she kept telling people she would kill him (not unbeknownst to you, and I assume he knew even more), yet he stayed, it could accurately be called a suicide.

I'm sure they don't know to do these things.  Thanks for your input.

I think in such a case it’s more likely categorised as a mental illness if you stay with someone who does that! Upshot however is the guy was dead at 61. Could have been suicide but we will never know. A few years back now and the cops just not interested then and certainly not now.

Foreigners have been raining from the skies of Thailand for the 30 years I've been here. Very few Thai's seem to take the dive (relatively speaking).

When Thais do take a fall, the BiB will make a cursory investigation as a possible homicide. Whilst if a westerner takes the plunge, suicide or alcohol are trotted out as the usual suspects.

But to be fair I doubt there’s many other countries where there are an abundance of 50/60/70 year olds that are absolutely convinced that their 20/30 year old stunner is ‘different’
