Life sentence which means the term of his natural life. He will probably be transferred to the UK after 8 years in custody.

A murder should result in the murderer facing death! To let him live is an injustice that should be corrected!

Ok, we're all outraged but the death penalty is medieval.

You say that, but I have yet to hear anyone that has been given the death penalty reoffending.

It's so simple and foolproof.

I agree, it's for the simple to apply.

It is not clear how Look’s body ended up in Kanchanaburi.

Driving from Bangkok to Hua Hin? I would have an idea. But the cutting in pieces would be more my focus on: where and when did that happen?

Prostitution must be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

It`s only a matter of time when these women will encounter a psycho.

For example, if a young lady was walking on a street and a strange guy pulled up in a car and offered her a lift, any woman with common sense would not get in the car for her own safety.

The same applies when women of ill repute go off with strange men to hotel rooms or homes, they are placing themselves at great risk.

Sadly, this young woman is not the first victim and won`t be the last. The money is not worth it.

Likely. But not good statistics are available given the nature of the work. And many simply just "go missing"

OFF TOPIC! Interesting fact... There are approx 400 elephant trainers in the world and every year 1-2 are killed on the job giving them a death rate of nearly 500 per 100,000 which far outstrips "Fishing and Hunting Workers" (the most dangerous job according to OSHA) with a fatal injury rate of 132 per 100,000 as the most dangerous job

Three times the minimum daily wage for an hour of work is worth it to some. Sex workers don’t do it for fun and should be aware of the risks.

AND be sure that he doesn't have to do any work while he is in prison... it's too dehumanizing...

He’s a foreigner so no work for him.

lets hope the Thai inmates give him a warm welcome after his pathetic 8 year sentence.

This Country has gone as soft as the UK when it comes to dealing with criminals

My wife`s nephew stole a motor scooter in Bangkok back in 1992 when he was 19 years old, he received a 6 year prison sentence, including a 20000 baht fine paid by his father.

Hope they make him pay the family the 12.5 million prior to the start of his sentence.

It's no consolation to the family but it will ease the pain of this freak only getting an 8 year sentence.

But the fish head soup day after day?

Of course! Nothing but the best before a cosy night’s sleep amongst friends.

Only 8 years!? What sort of a message does that send?

He will do more than 8 years in prison. He will do a minimum of 8 years in a Thai prison before he will be eligible, not entitled to, a transfer to a UK prison. His Thai sentence will be transferred with him to the UK and he must serve 2/3 of that sentence less the 8 years already served before he will be considered eligible for parole. It is part of the prisoner transfer agreement between countries.

Time they scrapped that and let these people serve their time where they did the crime instead of going home to some cushy prison. He murdered a Thai girl in Thailand and should serve it all here.

Murder is okay here, just don't deal with drugs. Mind you, 8 years in a Thai shovel will feel like 20 years in a UK hotel, and at least his fine is more than 500 baht. May this vermin rot.

If anyone is given the death sentence the prisoner could not transfer. As part of his extradition for trial to Thailand an agreement was made between the governments not to sentence him to death otherwise he would do his entire sentence here. His life has turned into a giant bowl of shit and it won’t get any better for at least another 15 years.

It is also a fact that all the people convicted and had the death penalty carried out and were then subsequently found to be innocent could not be brought back to life.

I am not saying this guy is innocent.

It is a fact that many people who admitted to murder had not actually committed the murder.

Plus I am sure that a life long sentence in a Thai prison is far worse than instant painless death.
