Thaiger Talk Quiz #068 - Udon Thani

Recommended Posts

5/5 but I lived there.

If you have not been I would recommend it for a few days or a week. Its a lot more laid back than other places farrangs tend to congregate in. Some very good hotels on Soi Samphan to accommodate all price ranges and its close to the train station. Airport is further afield but still OK in a tuk tuk.

Lucky you RS. I really liked Udon. Good night market and a nice vibe about the whole town. Friendly locals, met some good folk. I was last there in 2004, stayed at “The Aussie Pub” from memory.

Aye it was good. There are a couple of Aussie pubs. Used to go in them regularly to watch Aussie rules.

Actually, come to think of it, I think the place I was at was called “Aussie Pub 2” so that makes sense.

I remember facing a tough choice: drink cold beer and watch Aussie rules there or drink warm beer and watch Premier League at the Thai place down the road.

4/5  Beautiful, clean city with friendly people. It is one of the cities where I enjoyed visiting multiple times.

Agreed, Vigo. One of the friendliest places I’ve been in Thailand.

Where is the tough choice there 😁

You should make a point of visiting again next time you are over here. We can grab a beer and I can explain the rules of Aussie football to you. 😛

Sounds good. In that case, I’d happily take a hit and drink the coldies, RS 🍻😁
