Police have transferred 2 officers to inactive posts in Thailand’s central province of Nakhon Pathom following a viral video of the officers kicking and stomping on 2 young men. A fact-finding investigation of the 2 officers is now underway. The video first shows the officers pulling over on the side of a road in their truck, as 3 young men on a motorbike drive toward them. One more brutal act that will not result in any improvement in the RTP. The whole force is rotten from top to toe and is part of a state within a state that are hell bent on wielding their unfettered power for their own purposes at the expense of the general population.

While I generally agree with you, I want to ask you the following:

What do you think would have happened in your home country to a couple of young guys, approaching a police car and then one of the guys got an illegal gun in their pants? They would eat cake and sip some coffee?

No doubt the reaction of the police guy is a bit too harsh, but I can understand him as well. The youth in Thailand is getting more rough and ruthless, why is he even carrying a gun?

I see it as a too harsh way of educate the youths to stay away from the street and gang life and stop carrying illegal guns while engaging with other youths, likely doing the same.

" 2 Officers moved to inactive post " these 2 should immediately be sacked and put in front of a judge for assault. Send a message this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated. but in a 3rd world country like Thailand what do you expect.

A professional would be able to judge the amount of aggression to apply in the face of potential danger, and stop as soon as the subject is under control.

Those policemen are clearly on the other side of the spectrum, either due to incompetence or due to being bastards who relish in their power, knowing they won't be held accountable (…unless an unforeseen clip somehow makes it into the realm of social media).

Either way, the solution is not to take action (only) when accidental clips hit social media, but to equip all policemen with mandatory bodycams while on duty, and have an independent board with sufficient authority review them on a regular basis.

Thugs in uniform. Punishment: Hand cuff the police officers, remove shirts, kick and stomp heads by family of boys. Sounds fair.
