Looking for acoustic music jams in Thailand (especially Isaan) (and dog travel on regional jets question)

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of regular jams in Thailand, of the country, bluegrass, or oldtime American or Irish (folk) or gypsy jazz genres? I'm an amateur fiddler (and banjer) looking for where I could spend time in cold months, and also find acoustic guitarists or fellow fiddlers to jam with. I speak Thai, having previously lived there decades ago as a student. Are their forums in Thai I could follow to keep up with amateur musicians? I'm especially interested in  Isaan, though I recognize I'm going to have better luck finding jams in Chiang Mai/BKK/Phuket. I'll be visiting Thailand for a couple months end of this year/early next, doing reconnaissance for retirement locales, and would like to find some musicians. Thanks in advance for tips. While I"m at it, can anyone tell me if its hard to travel on regional jets with a 10lb dog? I'd like to bring my little dog B

LOL: Some subscribers actually wrote a song about me, using my dance and fiddle clips, pretty funny)
