I took the photo about a year ago.

They were there then.

Not sure, this is the right forum for it, but:

In the past weeks, I heart strange and loud "noises", over the day at some time, in Kata and Karon. "School bell" sound, followed by advertising, and around 6pm, the national anthem. I think it is at 8am the same.

Since that was not like that, before the last election, I started looking for the source.  (And I hope now, that, like all other solar panel powered devices here, they will soon ....! ;-)
