Thailand expects its one millionth foreign tourist this year to arrive by the end of May, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The kingdom has seen a sharp increase in tourists since the Test & Go programme and other entry requirements were scrapped at the start this month. Still a long way to go to get to pre covid of nearly 40 million per annum.

Chinese will not be helping the numbers much for awhile either re zero covid policy. (Maybe a year or two the way ZJP is going)

Be interesting to see if the visitors from India are on the increase.

Phuket had this numbers in average in a month, before covid.

If only they said they would aim for 500k, everyone would understand it  thanks to Covid, and would congratulate the government for being able to reach the goal in double.

And even their own people coming home are considered tourists. Sounds like an inflated number.
