High-priced decorative lamp posts purchased by local governments have been in the public eye for possible corruption and heavily criticised. The lamp posts, equipped with solar cells and adorned with mythical and traditional Thai figures, have been seen as extravagant purchases during the pandemic. Is normal in Thailand... tired if this nonsense, they NEVER really do anything about it, because they just pay the next one off, I hope people steal the lamps and sell them so they have some money for to spend it on something good...

This is actually a great idea, those LED lights with solar panels are efficient and could be bought for $175 at Aliexpress plus taxes, it use ones-a-3-year replaceable motorcycle battery. But, of cause, the talent of a great grifter is to create an extra added value, such as an artistic expression of Thai Renaissance Era Figurines by Joe Schmoe. And we know that out local governors are suckers for the art.
