Recommended Posts

I went to Sala Dang immigration to pick up forms for tomorrow at ChangWattana and the immigration officer said they're closed till Tues! I told her it expires Monday but she it is fine. Just go Tues morning. Ive been on hold 45minutes @ Chang Immigration telephone (to clarfy). I hope officer is correct.

They are totally correct. Tomorrow Friday the 13th is a holiday as is Monday the 16th so the soonest you could go is Tuesday the 17th.

The rule is IF the immigration office is closed (weekends or holidays) when your current stamp expires and you go the very next day they're open you will NOT be charged for overstay BUT you will get an overstay stamp in your passport that says "overstay xxx days fine waived due to holiday"

What was the reason you ran your stamp down to close before you went for your extension? In bangkok you can go when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp to apply for an extension and they add the new extension to your current expiration date (you don't lose any days going early)

Thank you. Everytine I go in they only extend from the day I'm in there. They always tell me come back closer to the day.

They once had an information poster advising you to apply from 3 days before for CV extensions.

that was just after the covid shit show started and it hasn't been a policy at C/W for over a year and some now

That didn't happen in BANGKOK at Chaengwattana, that had to be at Jomtien which tells people to come back when they have a week or less left on a visa exempt/tourist visa entry
