It’s called censorship. Another example of a no-nothing ministry/commission/department doing things that have little impact for the Thai people, except those Thais that are running things of course.

The best way to remove it from the consciousness is to do it quietly! Stop feeling the need to tell everyone about it. All their multiple media statements are doing is contributing to advertising the ad itself, creating further interest and curiosity in seeing what the fuss is all about!

It is to me, an example of the single greatest weakening aspect of the Asian fascination with “face”. It sometimes takes a simple decision to an extreme (in this case defending the affront), causing just greater loss along the way.

Unfortunately the best way would require forethought and logical consideration rather than a knee-jerk emotional reaction. This is Thailand after all!

That's my impression.  Officials must be seen to react quickly to displays of contempt and dissent, however slight, to re-enforce the necessary zero tolerance benchmark.  Big Brother is everywhere, watching, listening.  Courage is contagious, so anyone who sticks their head up must get the smash straight away, or else it all starts to unravel.

I’m torn - shutting off access to YouTube would shut down the anti vax loons and stifle the conspiracy theory lunatics who use it as their intellectual hub ,  shutting down access to Facebook would simply be a giant stride forward for mankind reversing decades of palpable damage to society, and Lazada looks like it’s been put together by a 10 year old web developer with the worst search engine I’ve ever seen, with 95%+ fake items for sale unchecked, however the reason for the ban is ludicrous so I’ll sit on the fence on this one. 

They should learn the old adage, there’s no such thing as bad publicity. A few thousand that have never heard of Lazada, have now!
