Personally, I'd prefer it if they'd just bugger off home and stop causing trouble.

Don't disagree! BUT you need to remember that the actions are invariably undertaken to further the economic desires of those who pay the real money to the politicians and their minions who staff those places! How else  can senators etc become millionaires / billionaires on their state salaries???

Hahaha, no doubt a lot of people say the same thing about Chinese embassies.

So which is it? The US is supplying weapons out of an embassy that doesn't exist yet, or are they worried the embassy that doesn't exist yet will be used as a "missile base"? That second one was funny.  That said, you don't ship weapons out of an embassy anyway, too easy to get caught. You use a third party out of a nondescript warehouse in a run down part of a different city. Got to have that all important plausible deniability.

The accusation the embassy will be use as a spy center of course is true. But then that's true about every embassy in the world since the day they first existed.

I do rub shoulders with some of the most vile, sadistic men calling themselves leaders today. But some of those men are the enemies of your enemies. And while the biggest arms dealer in the world is your boss, the President of the United States, who ships more merchandise in a day than I do in a year... sometimes it's embarrassing to have his fingerprints on the guns. Sometimes he needs a freelancer like me to supply forces he can't be seen supplying. - Nicolas Cage in Lord of War.

There is no evidence of "trouble". There is an allegation for an extremist nationalist group in respect to the USA. Are you  a fan of extreme nationalist groups?

It seems no one on this thread recognizes this group; "Prachachon Khon Thai” (The Peoples of Thailand) formerly the PAD / yellow Shirts/People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).  They claim that all they do is to protect the monarchy and that anyone who opposes them is against the monarchy.  Last year, these bullies accused the US government of interfering in Thai domestic affairs because the US  supports some basic human rights laws.  They have been trying to undermine PM Prayut and replace him with a more right wing person.   Prayuts crime? He didn't engage in cronyism with these people.  I am not a supporter of Prayut, but he did the right thing when he kept these people away from public funds. had he  done what they wanted and put yellow shirts in charge of everything, the country would have had civil war.

Ok, but that is not  what is happening here. What we have are ex yellow Shirts trying to stir up trouble. Is your hatred for all things USA blinding you to just how evil and anti foreigner these people are? Some of them would ban all foreigners from entry, especially western visitors.

Oh I dunno that I 'hate' anything really. Hate is a powerful emotion and I've got better things to spend the energy on. It's more a kind of contempt, if that counts. Contempt and disregard. Rather the yellow shirts than the NED.
