They should've scrapped the thai pass as well and substitute covid insurance with the 300 baht tax....why they are wasting so much valuable time losing at least 2 milion tourists...  again, look at the special intrest group, who is willing to make the whole nation suffer just to make a buck$$$$$$$.... pathetic, indeed.

I agree with other Readers!

Just get rid of the Insurance!

Its a detriment!

just charge everyone 300 Baht tax and announce that it will cover any fees for COVID related Incidents!

10million visitors a year=
300Million Baht to Government?

is that right?

Actually it would be 3 billion.  10 million x 3 baht is 30 million, x 30 baht is 300 million and times 300 baht would be 3 billion.

Yes this is the simple answer but such a system does not allow the insurance companies to reap billions of baht in fees that who knows where that money or a portion of it ends up.

Unfortunately he is not up to date understand now biggest nearest competitor Vietnam has cancelled all entry restrictions. Vietnam is far cheaper than Thailand with good attractions beaches and modern accommodation. Cambodia and Philippines are also attracting potential tourists away from Thailand.
