A travel bubble arrangement between Thailand and India has received the backing of PM Prayut Chan-o-cha, as officials look to revive foreign tourism in the kingdom. The Bangkok Post reports that government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana says the travel pact between the 2 countries has also been endorsed by Thailand’s public and private sectors. In the pre-Covid days, Thailand welcomed nearly 2 million Indian tourists a year, which generated revenue of around 86 billion baht. I don’t get this at all!!  What travel bubble? Does this mean Indian tourists won’t be tested on arrival? Does it mean they won’t need to apply for the Thailand Pass? Course it doesn’t. So basically it’s all a load of BS and just a marketing push in India. Still not coming Mr General until you scrap the restrictions. Simples!
