The 11pm curfew in Phuket has been broadly ignored by the town’s nightlife which is battling to restart after nearly 2 year Covid hiatus. It’s now been alleged that Police in Patong have, at times, turned a blind eye to the curfew and visitors have been enjoying the ‘extended’ hours. Continued Covid restrictions could easily result in civil unrest.

And the government will arrest the shepherds then turn the water cannons on to disperse the sheep. It wouldn’t be the first time.

Office Duties equals working from home, catching up on valuable sleep time due to partying 🎊 way into the night at a popular hotel in Phuket. Must have been working undercover. 😉

Reminds me of the Downing St. partygate nonsense. UK PM is acting as World Leader against Tyranny but “ must resign” over equivalent of a bloody parking ticket, which Mogg had to patiently explain, even to conservatives, is NOT any “crime”.

Let Go of all this Covid nonsense fcs.
wayyyyy more important issues here like Poverty & Education & Mafia & Democracy & Modernization ….. which of course will never improve/ change…

We stayed there a couple of months back when friends visited us from Bangkok..  the noise of 2 areas partying all night was pretty annoying especially when trying to sleep even at 5am . This has been going on for months. yet a friends live music bar gets closed by police at 11.00pm because he refuses to pay police corruption money!

Investigating the 5 Police officers should only take a day or two as they were either on the take or incompetent  if this has been going on for months.

Maybe a permanent  posting off the island or even dismissal should be in order but we all know that wont happen.

"11pm curfew in Phuket" bunch of liars..it's been open past 4am since November 1st of last year.

Thais trapping their own kind by using loopholes in laws to victimize some just to gain profit. Similar to false positive in "test and go"

This was probably what they were doing before being restricted to office duties anyway.

They obviously weren't out enforcing the rules and keeping everyone safe from the virus that keeps a stringent eye on the time ensuring that it doesn't infect anyone until after official closing time. 😜

“I think it is not possible for entertainment outlets in the hotel to have operated beyond the allowed opening hours, catering to about 1,000 clients per day, without the knowledge of the authorities.”

At the same time, police in this jongwat love to swoop down on 'other' smaller parties. Get any farangs present clocked up for a perp pics. They know just how to work it.
