News Forum - Thai healthcare tycoon Boon Vanasin flees as fraud charges mount
The sooner the 'elephant in the room' is addressed in Thailand - the better off the Thai People will become in the long run. During Mao's takeover of China in 1940s/50s there was an exodus of Chinese people. Most people think they all went to Taiwan - WRONG. Taiwan was where those fighting against Communism and those who wanted Democracy went - and the CCP allowed them to go (rather than fight non stop wars and try to kill them all). However - a large number of Chinese went to Thailand. The criminals and corrupt who also needed to flee Communism, were not welcome in Taiwan - so they went to Thailand. They are now often called 'Thainese' - and they are a very large part of the corrupt wealthy who now dominate Thailand. They are everywhere in the politics, military, courts and industry of Thailand - the majority of rich wealthy Thainese are the descendants of those Chinese who came here after WW2 - they are more Chinese than Thai. This corrupt ahole who has fled back to China rather than face jail here in Thailand is exactly what they are - they are Chinese at heart. Until the Thai people do something about them, they will remain in power and control and not look after the best interests of the Thai people. I am not referring to those Thais in the long line of monarchy here - I am referring to those who are really Chinese - and there is a LOT of them in Thailand. The Monarchy here is not a problem (overall) - it is those who are not really Thai that are the problem. They are not in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam or Myanmar - nor are they in Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia or Indonesia. They chose Thailand for obvious reasons - the main one being that they were allowed to grow and thrive here after making donations and payments. The others kept them out by refusing to offer them 'sanctuary' - and if they had tried to go to Japan or Korea they would have been slaughtered. -
