Gas-powered cars are still in vogue, but EVs are one the rise. If they massage the 'show' sales figures anything like Australia does, actual figures reflect total orders for any new models by dealerships, not sales per se, and the balance of sales figures come from anticipated sales based on expressions of interest during the show.   Smoke and mirrors but it helps promote interest in the annual event which is well worth attending.
