seems to me they wanted to cross the road, there are no footpaths in Thailand that are not occupied by trees, salespersons, advertising boards or building sites.

She had crutches so wouldn't one think she could have gotten by using them and as the portable wheel chairs do fold together, that is if it was a total had to do. Also that sign looks as if it is turned pretty much sideways almost flush to the road. Yes, some sidewalks in some areas definetely were not thought out or managed well.

Way to take responsibility for your banners!  This is what Thai people can expect from this candidate it seems ...

What are the rules for taking the candidate banners down after the election? 
Some places give the candidates 2 days to remove their own otherwise they are removed and the candidate is charged for each banner left up.

The sidewalks in BKK are in a pathetic state. And that's where they do exist, because in the sois there are practically no sidewalks, and in the main arteries they can be blocked by condo/office/shop construction, street vendors and their customers, trees etc. The city was basically built with no pedestrians in mind.
