complaints from Thai netizens piled in, criticising the man as well as the motorsports staff for their recklessness.

That recklessness can be seen all over Thailand every single day.

Of course, everyone thought it is one of this puppy back packs, right? You can't make this stuff up.

the speed was limited to only 50 kilometres per hour, and it wasn’t a racing campaign.

And how was that policed?

You give them a 'big bike' a race track and then say 50 kms per hour only so they ride around in first gear. BULL S..T

I expect the percentage of drivers crashing at public motorcycle events to be infinitesimal, so it's only after one repositions the event into the context of everyday driving that a risk becomes notable. Calling an event reckless based on an evaluation of that event out-of-context makes no sense.

Looks like normal Thai riding to me, surprised the guy actually had a helmet on.

But was he wearing a face mask? Surely that was more important?

Suppose you could take the view it's a lot safer for the kid to ride without a helmet on a track at low speed due to the lack of traffic coming the other way, lack of pedestrians/dogs,lack of road furniture and tracks are way grippier than most roads.

However ultimately it is a very good demonstration of gross stupidity.

welcome to thailand!

Not a percentage game that most normal people would play.

Carrying a baby on a bike should not be part of everyday driving either. But, event staff should be aiming to make the event MORE SAFER than every day driving. Therefore they were reckless. Also I guess any accident could have left them partly liable.

We don't know if this guy was Valentino Rossi or someone who had only previously ridden a moped. Either way it's a test drive, we can assume he is unfamiliar with the machine.

He is an idiot.
