Not everyone is complaining about the TP,  I am not and have have used it 2 times to enter the kingdom. For what it is worth I think some people just enjoy complaining

TP was easy for the non-whiners

And the hotels I have contacted have been fantastic at communicating

We picked Grand Centre Point Terminal 21 and they have been awesome to deal with

It's funny how the non-whiners seem to ge able to navigate it all pretty easy, hey?

That’s nice. Now go and repeat it in an ICU ward full of Covid patients on lung machines. I dare you.

"Full"??? Well first this is currently happening only in your imagination. But anyway, now covid is here to stay, there will always be Covid patients on lung machines, usually the same "at risk" people that end up there for many other diseases and pathologies (did you care so much, or even thought about all these people before covid? My guess is NO!). This is unavoidable, no matter what we do. Even with the (current) vaccines as a "Thaiger expert" explains it... (https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/medical-expert-calls-for-transition-from-favipiravir-to-more-effective-molnupiravir)

He goes on to say that certain categories of Covid-19 patients are still at risk of severe illness, even if they’re fully vaccinated. These include people on immunosuppressive drugs, who need access to effective treatment.

But as I said before, if you fear so much to end up there yourself because of covid, stay home, wear your mask at all time, do not ever socialise again, do not go anywhere where people are and you will be fine...with covid. You might end up there eventually like all of us for 100s of other things but at least you escaped covid. And let everybody else live their lives freely, it is VERY simple.

There are plenty of areas of the world that didn't put in place these protocols and none of t hem, not a single one was was overwhelmed let along having a collapse of the health care system.  I'd place solid money you couldnt tell the difference in the charts between areas that did nothing, did little, or completely locked down/mandates etc.

Stop fear mongering.

Look, I'm not going to argue with someone who denies science. My point was simply that there is a third option which was not mentioned. Restrictions aren't mean to block Covid completely. It doesn't work like that.

Marvin, why is that test and a proof of vaccination in any way "efficient"? Firstly, since we know that vaccinated or not, you have JUST AS MUCH possibilities to catch and transmit the virus, should then in your logic just a test be "efficient"? But then what is the point of the test? Not to bring Omicron into Thailand? But it is already everywhere, what difference does that make considering also that it is not worse than the flu? Shouldn't it be anyway the way forward to get a worldwide natural immunity while not mixing people from different countries is creating the opposite? As I said before, where I am in Thailand, it is basically easier to count people who have not had covid the last few weeks, most of us had it at some point or another, including myself, including 6 unvaccinated people I know personally with literally all the same symptoms. I do not know a single one badly ill or/and ending up in hospital. And everyone can clearly observe that it is the same all over the world. So why still now the over cautious strategy? For how much longer? Marvin, you said "Mandates are being lifted, dropped and everything is opening in Thailand" but that is not the case. Most of all the main one, opening the country, and not using the word to make it look like it is an opening while it is not really, is really important for so many people here relying on tourism and so on. The rich Thai people got way richer over the past 2 years (as worldwide) but the situation for the poors will get to a point of no return, for some it has already been the case. If the original virus sars-cov-2 two years ago had been Omicron, nobody would have ever even talked about it (apart from Big Pharma, but that's their job to make money regardless by selling expensive drugs), so why we still continue this madness??? Drop ALL restrictions, move on and let people resume their lives for those whom it is not already too late.

Yes you are correct Manu and what I said was a prediction of what’s to come. We've been thru over here in America so I totally get it. I’m also for no testing and to not show proof of vaccinations upon entry into your country.  It’s wishful thinking but not reality. Your counties government is still hell bent on enforcing regulations on tourist. I could care less about any of those regulations or stipulations. My statement still stands I will not attempt to go to your country unless the test and go is scrapped. I will go if I only have to test when I get there and show I’m vaccinated. I’ve worked thru this whole nightmare around thousands of people and never been sick or tested positive. Peace my friend.

Thank You

Marvin, my response was not really trying to "kind of disagree with you", I was just pushing the thought a little futher. Also Thailand is not my country but I live here.

I totally agree with you. I generally do not like to advise people what to do, but what I can say is that personally I would not even think of coming to Thailand if I was not planning to stay at least 3 months. I have talked to many tourists the last few months that came here for 2/3/4 weeks and everytime, I could not help to ask them why they took the risk. I do not think most of them realised what was waiting for them if they had been tested positive on day 1....10 days in an hotel room (not YOUR hotel room of course) even if you have no symptom so therefore not sick... Not a great holiday that would be. Nope, I would definitely not take that risk. Not to mention that nightlife is still not allowed and you have to wear the mask 24h, even on the beach. People wearing that mask on deserted beaches is not a nice sight, that's the least to say.

Well for example in the UK now, everyone is welcome, vaccinated or not, no test, no proof of anything, 0 restriction left. Hopefully common sense will get back everywhere else too eventually. The thing is, history has shown that it is easier to impose restrictions on population than to crap them. So at the very least, it will take some time in some countries even when/if these restrictions will make 0 sense. But that is my cynical side I guess.

Take care Marvin.
